Can you do SEO yourself in 2021?

SEO or Search Engine Optimization can be seen as a tool used to improve the quality as well as the quantity of website traffic a site gets. The website traffic usually comes from search engines like Google, Safari, Bing, etc. SEO is a great way to draw traffic to yourself and begin generating some sales! If you’ve ever asked the question, can I do SEO myself? You have come to the right place. Yes, you can do SEO yourself, and this article will tell you how.

Before we delve into the body of this article, let’s discuss some of the benefits of search engine optimization and why you should consider using it. As earlier mentioned, SEO is short for Search Engine Optimization, which means it is a way to optimize and get the most out of search engine results. The idea is to use SEO keywords or phrases often enough that your article or web page will show up on the first few options of the search engine’s results.

SEO can also involve more complicated actions such as the creation of an XML sitemap that will enable the specific pages you want shown to be easily accessed by the search engine. Of course, this is more technical than the average person will be able to handle, so we’ll now move on to easy SEO actions you can do yourself.

We have SEO Strategies with you in mind.

Types of SEO

On-Page SEO

Meta Description

When the search engine brings up results, you’ll notice the little summaries underneath the topic of the pages. This is a meta description. A meta description is a tag and an HTML element that is there for you to give a summary of the page and its content. This is a great way to optimize content for the search engine and the viewer.

Keywords

There are two rules for search engine optimization. The first is that the keywords must be inserted naturally. This means they have to flow with the rest of the article. If you simply write the keyword over and over again, search engines will regard it as spam and not bring it up amongst the results. Using a keyword or several keywords helps the search engine know what your website is about. For example, if you own an online candy store, you’ll want to use the phrase “online candy store” naturally in the content you put on your website.

Now, finding the appropriate keywords may seem complicated, but there are many ways to access ranked keywords. You can opt to use free sites that show ranked keywords for your selected topic, or you can simply use the Google search engine. To use the Google search engine, you’ll type out the first word or two of your business or article, then wait for the results to come in. For example, if you run an online candy store, in the search bar, simply type out “online candy” and note the suggestions. The suggestions are the most searched phrases, and they can then become your keywords. You can also take a look at Google Trends to know what topics are trending.

Off-Page SEO

When we say off-page search engine optimization, we are referring to search engine optimization done on other websites or web pages. A great off-page SEO option is a hyperlink. A hyperlink is when your content or product is linked into a word or a phrase. This is also a great form of advertisement. It is important that off-page SEO occurs on reputable sites. It’s better off occurring naturally, so instead of buying links, focus on creating good content that people will want to link onto their sites. Some other options are social media and email marketing.

Local SEO

Local SEO is best suited for businesses with physical locations. So if you’re looking to show up in searches like “bar near me,” “amusement park near me,” or “business in a specific location,”  you should look into local SEO. Local SEO works well with Google Maps, so you’ll definitely want to ensure your business is listed on Google Maps.
